Unlock Your Dell Laptop - The Procedure

In order to remove the password from your Dell laptop you will need to take it apart. Don't worry as it is not as hard as you might think. I will provide you with a link to a site that will give you disassembly instructions for your particular model of Dell laptop. Inside your particular model you will find a small password chip similar to the one illustrated here.

In a perfect world you could simply wish the password away but I'm afraid it will not work in this case. The goal is to remove the password from your Dell laptop which of course you do not know. What you will need to do is short two of the pins on the chip at a specific time in order to fool the laptop into thinking it is in manufacturing mode. Once this is accomplished the password can easily be erased or changed to a known password.

This password removal procedure is not hard at all and in fact most of my customers who buy my Dell password removal guide are novice computer users. My illustrated guide shows you exactly what you need to do and also gives specific instructions for the models listed above. Like I said earlier, if you want to pay a service technician $100 or more to remove your password, that is your choice. But the fact is anyone can do it with very little effort. All you need is about 1 hour of time, an ability to follow directions, and a bit of patience.

What will you need to remove your Dell password you might ask? You will need 3 things...
A small screwdriver to take the laptop apart, a small paperclip or a short piece of wire, and of course you will need the laptop that contains the password (Sorry, you cannot wish it away).

I also mentioned earlier some sites will try to convince you that you need to remove the password protected chip and replace it with one that they will amazingly supply for anywhere from $39.99 to $79.99. What's even more striking is that this is a very common chip valued at approximately $2. While I do agree that swapping this chip will certainly remove the password, you need to keep in mind that this chip has 8 pins on it and is only 4 millimeters by 5 millimeters in size and removing this very tiny surface mount device is tedious even for an experienced technician. If a novice tried to do this, I can guarantee you that less than 1% of the attempts will be successful. The other 99% will now be faced with the prospect of buying a new motherboard because the heat required from removing the chip will have ruined the circuit traces on the board.

So in my opinion, the options to remove your Dell laptop password are as follows:
1. Pay a service technician to remove the password (He will most likely use my method).
2. Buy a chip at a 2000% markup and try to replace it yourself (Most likely damaging the board).
3. Use my method that does not require you to remove the chip, and remove the password yourself.
